The E.N.D.

I realise I have been neglecting this blog but I did have my reasons to do so.

Short recap of what happened after: we went from Quebec to Halifax where I reached my goal of hitchhiking all the way from the westcoast to the eastcoast! Then we took a ferry to Saint-John and crossed the border in Calais without too much problems this time. We got stuck hitchhiking in Portland (Maine) and took a bus to Boston. Boston, New York and Washington DC were all very cool and fun places to stop at.

We also stayed at Pamela's (my American mother in law) for 12 days, couchsurfed in DC and Savannah and ended the journey in a fancy hotel in Miami. Miami turned out as the biggest disappointment due to the weather. There was nothing but rain, winds and floods for 3 days so I'm coming back here at some point.

Anyway, I LOVED this trip as I learned so much from it. Stuff like:

1. It's hard to travel cheap, even when hitchhiking
2. While hitchhiking, watch out for older men...
3. Positive attitude and beliefs will get you a long way
4. Most people are actually great
5. I can't live without traveling
6. The couchsurfing community rocks!
7. Nothing can get me down (trust me, it got tested)
8. I LOVE LIFE!
9. Greatness is achieved through small accomplishments (sappy, I know)
10. ... and so much more...

So yea, I feel like I'm more than ever ready to face life head-on and make the most of it.
An no, this is not the end of my hitchhiking/backpacking adventures. It's rather the beginning of a new more balanced life, where I will keep traveling and exploring new countries, just in smaller amounts :-)

My plans for the future have changed (again!) as I will go back to university and finish all of that up, go live on my own as soon as possible (I'm almost 25 so..), spend more time enjoying life and trying new stuff. Next trip is Greece in about 3 weeks!

Again, a big THANKS to o everyone who helped me out along the way, whether it was a hitch, food or a place to sleep. You're all fantastic people and it was a pleasure talking to all of you (well, most of you anyways ;-)) Much love to all & especially to my friends in Vancouver.
